Sunrise Caribbean Gourmet Restaurant Reviews

Food was great and the jerk wings were falling off the bone. If you like spicy here chicken try them.

This is one of my favorite Caribbean spots in town. The oxtails are tender and flavorful, the chicken is moist and the cabbage is tasty. Give it a try if you haven't.

Ordered the Jerk Chicken with Rice & Peas, Plantains and Cornbread! Best Jerk I've had since 1998! Very good cornbread also. The lady that took my order was very nice. I highly recommend this place for great food and service.

First off, I want to thank the lovely woman at the counter for being patient with me. I had the cury goat with yellow rice and fried Plantains. The rice was good, and the Plantains were delicious. The curry was exceptional. The meat was tender and had so much flavor. I travel for work, and if I ever find myself in Jacksonville again, I will find a way to visit Sunrise again. I'll get the ox tail curry whenever that happens. This should be a food stop for anyone in Jacksonville or those visiting. Also recommend the in-house Sorrel drink they have. 10/10 delicious beverage to have with any meal here.

Food was amazing. My husband got the oxtails & I got the jerk chicken. It smelled amazing & both were very flavorful & tender. Corn bread was good as well. It was drive thru only. The food didn’t take long to come out either. We got there like 45 min before they closed (close at 6 on Sunday), but the food still tasted fresh & hot. Not like it had been sitting all day. I would definitely recommend going here.

Wow! Be prepared for a nap after you eat this good food. The mango lemonade is soooo good, please try! The spicy beef patty is absolutely amazing, you will want another one! Very friendly staff who explains everything about what your getting with your meal. Just found our favorite Jamaican spot in Paxon area! We had Jerk chicken, peas and rice, Mac an cheese (such a different yet interesting taste, try it!), cornbread, and spicy beef patties and absolutely everything was good. We arrived around 12:30pm. They have so many drinks to choose from!

Just ordered a plate off of grubhub it's pretty good I had stew chicken with rice and peas macaroni cabbage and plantains is actually really good of course I've ate a lot of different places where as my job takes me all over the country I've had better but this is one of the good ones not as much chicken on the plate that I expected but it's a pretty good place definite would Go again

My 3 year old son and I love their cabbage and beans and rice that is our favorite dish. If you a meat eater, other people love their curry chicken and snapper fish. Since I don't eat meat, I indulge on the veggie plate. Also, their plantains are delicious.
